About the Product

The BLOCKsignalling Capacitor Discharge Unit (CDU) stores electrical energy in capacitors and releases it as a short, high-current pulse when a switch is operated. This provides reliable operation of points by delivering a burst of current that is greater than a transformer can supply directly.

In addition to improving points operation, the CDU protects points motors from burn-out by limiting any sustained current caused by faults in the switching circuit. It also helps prevent voltage fluctuations across the rest of the layout. This dual-capacitor version is suitable for medium-sized layouts.
