About the Product

The BLOCKsignalling M1 is a universal module designed for sequential operations on model railway layouts. It allows multiple actions to be carried out automatically in a defined order, making it ideal for creating realistic, interactive layouts with minimal manual control.

When triggered, the module performs a pre-programmed action such as powering a section of track, operating points, or changing signals. It then waits for a train to be detected by the infra-red sensor or for a timed condition to be met. Once complete, the module sends a “DONE” signal which can trigger additional modules, enabling complex sequences to be created.

By linking multiple M1 modules together, a chain of events can be automated, such as moving trains through a fiddle yard, operating points in sequence, or controlling signalling systems. Modules can also be connected in a loop for continuous operation.

Key Features

  • Automatically performs pre-programmed actions triggered by input or detection.
  • Two independent relay outputs for controlling track power, points motors, signals, and more.
  • Supports sequential operation by linking multiple modules together.
  • Trigger inputs include push-button, switch, reed relay, infra-red sensor, or another module.
  • Infra-red train detection for precise, automated control.
  • “DONE” output allows chaining modules for complex automation.
  • Multiple built-in programs including fiddle yard control, points operation, signalling, and direction change.
  • Fully programmable universal mode for custom operation sequences.
  • Adjustable timing, delays, and relay behaviour for flexible operation.
  • Compact design with screw terminals for easy wiring.
  • Compatible with OO, HO, and other scales depending on application.

Electrical Specifications

  • 12V DC power supply required.
  • Typical current draw: 10mA idle, 50mA with one relay active, 100mA with both relays active.
  • Relay outputs rated up to 1A at 24V DC.
  • Reverse polarity protected (module will not operate but will not be damaged).
