About the Product

The BLOCKsignalling SDCC1-HP is a high-power automatic DCC model railway shuttle controller with station stops, designed to run a single DCC locomotive backwards and forwards with realistic acceleration and deceleration. Its built-in DCC command station and speed control allow automatic operation without a separate DCC controller.

At each end of the shuttle line, the locomotive is detected as it enters an isolated track section. The SDCC1-HP automatically slows the train to a stop, waits for the selected period and then accelerates it away in the opposite direction.

One or more intermediate station stops can also be added. As the locomotive enters a station section, it automatically decelerates, waits and then accelerates away in the same direction. This allows realistic automatic operation of terminus-to-terminus services with intermediate stations.

The SDCC1-HP can also be configured for continuous loop operation with station stops, allowing a locomotive to travel continuously around a loop while automatically stopping at one or more stations.

With a track output of up to 1.5A, the SDCC1-HP is the higher-power version of the SDCC1 and is designed for OO/HO and O gauge layouts where a greater track current is required.

The SDCC1-HP is a self-contained mini DCC command station, combining automatic train control and locomotive speed control in a single module. This provides a straightforward way of creating a higher-power automatic DCC shuttle without requiring a computer or separate DCC command station.

Basic DCC Shuttle Operation

For basic shuttle operation, the track is divided into a main section and two isolated end sections. When the locomotive reaches either end section, the SDCC1-HP detects it, brings it to a controlled stop, waits for the selected time and then sends it back in the opposite direction.

Additional isolated sections can be created for automatic station stops. As the locomotive enters a station section, it decelerates to a stop, waits for the selected period and then accelerates away in the same direction.

Loop Operation with Station Stops

The SDCC1-HP can also operate a locomotive continuously around a model railway loop with one or more automatic station stops, allowing the train to stop, wait for the selected period and then continue around the loop.

Speed and Waiting Time Adjustment

On-board SPEED and TIME adjustments allow the locomotive speed and waiting time to be set directly on the SDCC1-HP, making it easy to adjust automatic operation to suit the locomotive and layout.

DCC Locomotive Compatibility

The SDCC1-HP is designed to operate a single DCC-equipped locomotive and provides up to 1.5A output to the track, making it suitable for locomotives requiring more current than the standard SDCC1 can provide.

The shuttle track must be a separate, electrically isolated section of the layout and must not be connected simultaneously to another DCC command station or speed controller. This isolation requirement is explicit in the SDCC1 operating design.
