About the Product

The BLOCKsignalling Capacitor Discharge Unit (CDU) stores electrical energy in a capacitor and releases it as a short, high-current pulse when a switch is operated. This burst of energy provides reliable operation of points while drawing far less continuous current than a transformer would otherwise need to supply.

The CDU also protects points motors from burn-out by limiting any sustained current caused by faults in the switching circuit, while helping to maintain stable voltage levels across the rest of the layout. This single-capacitor version is ideal for smaller layouts.
