About the Product

The BLOCKsignalling SEC1A-DC Section Control Module is designed for DC layouts to protect a section of track by preventing more than one train from entering that section at the same time. It provides automatic signal control and track isolation to deliver realistic and reliable block signalling.

The module monitors trains entering and leaving a protected section and automatically controls the associated signals. When a train enters the section, the signal at the entrance is set to danger (red) and the track section is isolated to stop following trains. The SEC1A-DC also communicates with preceding sections to correctly display yellow and double-yellow aspects when used with 3- and 4-aspect signalling systems.

Key Features

  • Monitors trains entering and leaving a protected section of track.
  • Automatically sets the entry signal to danger (red) and isolates the section to stop trains.
  • Communicates with previous sections to display correct yellow and double-yellow aspects when using 3- and 4-aspect signals.
  • Allows the final section to simulate a return to clear using timers for realistic 3- and 4-aspect signal operation.
  • Forces signals to danger when points are not set in the train’s favour.
  • Allows signals to be forced to danger via an external input, ideal for starter signals.
  • Supports 2-, 3-, and 4-aspect LED signals, with SEC1A-DC for common-cathode signal wiring.
  • Supports bidirectional running with 2-aspect signalling at each end of the line.
  • Includes additional station stop modes and an additional Dapol output.
  • Remembers section occupancy when power is removed and automatically restores signal states when power returns.
  • Simple to set up while remaining fully configurable for highly realistic operation.

Electrical Requirements

  • Requires a 12V DC power supply
