About the Product

The BLOCKsignalling SEC4A-DCC Section Controller is designed for DCC layouts to protect a block section of track and prevent more than one train entering the section at the same time. It monitors trains entering and leaving using infra-red sensors mounted below the track and automatically controls the signal at the entrance to the block.

When a train enters the section, the module sets the entrance signal to danger (red) and switches a short isolated approach section from DCC to DC. This causes DCC-equipped locomotives (configured to stop on DC) to decelerate realistically and come to a standstill in front of the red signal. The module then restores DCC and clears the signal once the train has left the section. For multi-aspect signalling, the module can communicate with adjacent blocks to display correct yellow and double-yellow aspects.

This version is for common-cathode LED signals.
